level up!

Just wanted to share how happy I am to have gotten a promotion this year.  I wasn’t expecting it, really.  Finally, a change to my current title.  That would mean a higher pay (though by how much, I do not know) and added benefits I guess. I would need to get new calling cards now. Maybe I could also get a car. Wishful thinking. *big smile*

sale sale sale!

I went to MOA earlier with the intent of having a foot massage since it’s the only way to make me relax after a very stressful week.  However, I decided to go with my mom and spend time with her and so off we went to windowshop instead.  Windowshopping… Right. I ended up buying three blouses and 1 shirt from Terranova, one jacket from Zara, and a pink bag from Lacoste.  The sign with the up to 70% off is too humongous to ignore.  I am now officially poor.  :P

dark week

This week saw the death of two famous celebrities from the U.S. : Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.  There was also the death of Ed McMahon a few days before.  It’s quite saddening to hear of their passing, especially MJ’s, who was scheduled to give a series of shows in London that was to be his last curtain call.  We lost a music icon, and it is not a surprise seeing people light a candle for him, offer flowers, gifts, and what-not.  I just hope that with all the controversy surrounding his death, he’ll leave this world in peace.

careers in IT, anyone?

With the recent controversy surrounding a supposedly private video that permeated the World Wide Web, one cannot help but think how powerful the Internet could be.  Over time, people have become heavily dependent on computers, both for business and pleasure, such that we can no longer imagine how our lives would be like without it.

As much as it is convenient, keeping information over cyberspace is dangerous as well.  Viruses and other online threats have evolved over the years, that companies and even private individuals have spent thousand of dollars trying to protect its databases incidental to their operation.

It isn’t surprising that there are new courses relevant to this day and age being offered online.  As an example, an online MS in Information Security is being marketed to those people who have an interest in information technology.   I’ve read through the course outline and I believe that the topics are timely and very much up-to-date.  Making a career out of it after its completion is very promising, because as opposed to other occupations that have become less in demand, the need for computer experts will always stay.

and more options.. :P

Further to my never-ending research on weight-loss products, I also discovered a dietary supplement called Stimerex ES.  I am a little familiar with the ingredients, especially the green tea extract, which I’ve been also taking for some time now.   More than its ability to help reduce the weight, I love the fact that one is energized or pumped up if you wish.  And if it can take the fat away from the hips? I am sold. :P

tweet tweet!

My Tumblr and Multiply accounts are kinda inactive at the moment.  I’m only visible on Facebook, only because I do not feel obliged to write lengthy posts.  I’m contented at taking quizzes, stalking people, and letting others know of the mundane things that are going on in my life. Hehe.

I know a lot of people are becoming addicted to Twitter, but I’m afraid of getting so addicted to it that I might neglect the more important stuff that I should be paying attention to.  I’m tempted though of reviving my Twitter account.  Following celebs seem to be quite the “in” thing nowadays and it’s perfect for enhancing the investigator in me. :P lol
