tip no. 50: travel to the city of smiles…

The Masskara Festival in Bacolod is barely two months away.  I availed of the zero-fare promo from Cebu Pacific and got myself a round-trip ticket to the city.  I’m really looking forward to it since it seems like a very lively event.  I’m expecting to see a lot of colorful masks, a grand parade, and crowds of happy people.  No Halloween costumes, I hope.  I’ve been dreaming of horrifying scenarios for several nights now.

tip no. 49: delete him/her from your contacts list…

Burning bridges isn’t really advisable in general, but can actually be helpful in getting over past relationships.  I have deleted and have been deleted by former boyfriends in some social networks, although I have not gone as far as taking him out of my phonebook. I say it’s useless because more often than not, I memorize them anyway. Lol.

Kidding aside, it would really help if they’re not on your Friendster or on your Multiply, lest you want to torture yourself by staring at photos of your ex-beau being happy even without you in his/her life.  Stay away from the source of the pain, avoid it as if it were a strange disease.  Like mesothelioma. Has anyone ever heard of it? :P

tip no. 48: get addicted to crunchyroll!

Whoever created Crunchyroll is a genius. This site was recommended to me by a friend who was so into Korean movies and tv shows. I’m not much of a series fan, nor am I fond of Japanese anime, but I do appreciate free Tagalog films online! Haha. I haven’t watched one in full, though. I just browsed over the list and found a few files from the Philippines. Basically, the format is a little similar to You Tube but focuses on Asian content. It kinda amazes me how fast the loading was. No sweat! ;)

tip no. 47: talk about it over a cup of Starbucks coffee

Sometimes, it’s not all about seeking the perfect love advice per se. What’s more important is having someone around that you can share your heartaches to. This time, temporarily forget that you have your blog, that you have your YM, and that you have all the latest gadgets in the world (talking watches, included). Find a friend who can be physically there with you.

I guess a lot of you would agree that hanging out at coffee shops is perhaps the best way to go with less noise and a more relaxing atmosphere. They let you overstay too. Haha. Invite your bestest bud or fellow singles in your circle. I can guarantee that letting others in on your tragic love story will make you feel a hundred times better. :P

tip no. 46: goodbye love? hello, career ! :)

How often have we heard about people not having the opportunity of experiencing the best of both worlds? A blooming love life may not necessarily mean a flourishing career. In the same manner, a superwoman at work doesn’t always equate to being queen of a man’s heart. For some reason, something is sacrificed along the way, because not everyone has the capacity to create that perfect balance between these two aspects.

Granting that this theory is almost always true, and that at the moment, you are not that blessed in the love department, now is the time to work on your career. Take the time to think about your own future, because you never know if you’re going to tread it alone (God forbid!). Be your own woman! Invest on properties, get yourself a futures broker… or at least work on getting a promotion. Develop yourself professionally and secure yourself financially.  Plus, who knows? You just might find the man of your dreams in the corporate setting. :)

tip no. 45: bring out the Magic Sing!

I miss videoke. Really! I miss hanging out with my girl friends at Red Box, singing our lungs out. Five hours of choosing cheesy sentimental songs over bottles of light beer and the complimentary chips, with a plasma tv, no less! Perfect during those really depressing moments. Been there, done that. Hehe. We have developed our own reportoire over the years, and my all-time favorites are those from the 80’s: The Jets, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson… You name it. Revived at some point, but nothing beats the original, I guess.

Although I love videoke bars, a Magic Sing will do any day! Cheaper too, and you can sing all you want in the comforts of your own home. You can bring it anywhere too! Plug and play.  Just make sure your songs are updated and you’re set for the night! :)
